Seminar Description:
Redband trout, steelhead, and salmon are vital to the ecological, cultural, and economic health of the Deschutes Basin. But these fish face a variety of challenges from changing river conditions, habitat loss, and water management challenges. Megan Hill, who leads natural resource management for PGE and the Confederated Tribes of Warms Springs' Pelton Round Butte Hydroelectric Project, brings expertise in balancing hydropower operations with fish restoration, while Jason Wilcox, Fisheries Program Manager, offers insight into the science and strategies driving habitat restoration. Moderated by Lisa Seales, DRC Program Manager, this discussion will illuminate the past, present, and future of fish recovery in the Deschutes and the innovative partnerships working to protect these species.
