Have you ever wondered how our local farmers are adapting to a changing climate? On July 12th from 4-6 p.m. join the DRC at the Fox Hollow Ranch for an on-farm tour given by the Richards family.
This family-owned and operated ranch is located just south of Madras. Come to learn how they have worked hard to do more with less water than other farmers in the basin and how they remain successful despite a multi-year drought.
Program:
- 4 pm: Arrival, food, beverages, conversation about water, including the state of the basin, and DRC’s work.
- 5 pm: Fox Hollow Ranch farm tour. There will be a limited amount of walking. We can accommodate individuals with limited mobility.
Here's what you need to know:
What to bring: lawn chair, sunscreen, hat, comfortable shoes, water bottle.
What we will provide: cheese and crackers (GF included), vegetables, dips, fruit, pinwheel wraps, and other light fare. Non-alcoholic beverages including sparkling water, lemonade, and iced tea.
Transportation:
- Limited mobility? No problem. We’ve got on-site transportation for those who need it.
- Want to carpool? We’ve set up a link for people to find each other to carpool. This is optional and can be organized amongst attendees, but the link will help you to connect. Please allow 45 minutes to drive from Bend to the farm.
