DRC Welcomes Alex Ehrens as Program Manager
The Deschutes River Conservancy is thrilled to welcome Alex as our new Program Manager. Alex will play a key role in managing the Annual Water Leasing Program, ensuring its smooth integration with the DRC's broader water management initiatives. He’s also an essential part of the Deschutes Basin Water Collaborative, contributing to the development of the Upper Deschutes Basin Place-based Plan and providing technical and administrative support for regional water management efforts.
Before coming to the DRC, Alex worked as a project and technical lead at AMP Insights, where he supported nonprofit, agency, and Tribal clients across the western United States in solving water management challenges. He holds both a BS in Hydrological Sciences and a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Management from the UCSB. During his time at UCSB, Alex focused on Water Resources Management and Environmental Data Science and was honored with the Sustainable Water Markets Fellowship.
With nearly a decade of experience in water management, Alex is excited to bring his expertise to the DRC and contribute to advancing water conservation efforts in the Deschutes Basin. Outside of work, you can find him exploring the natural beauty of Central Oregon—hiking trails, paddling rivers and lakes, camping in forests, and learning to snowboard the region’s mountains.
Please join us in welcoming Alex to the DRC team. We’re excited to see the positive impact his experience and passion will have on our work!
