Welcome Grant Traynor to the Deschutes River Conservancy!

We are excited to welcome Grant Traynor to the Deschutes River Conservancy team as our new Project Manager! Grant brings a wealth of experience in conservation project management, stakeholder engagement, and water resource stewardship that will enhance our efforts to restore streamflows and improve water quality in the Deschutes Basin.

With a strong background in environmental studies and biology, Grant has spent years working on conservation initiatives that bridge the gap between landowners, regulatory requirements, and ecological needs. His time as the Voluntary Stewardship Program Coordinator for the Walla Walla County Conservation District allowed him to implement key restoration projects, securing over $1.8 million in funding to support fish habitat restoration. His work on irrigation modernization and GIS-based environmental monitoring will be a valuable asset to our mission.

Grant’s passion for conservation is matched by his love for the outdoors. When he’s not working on river restoration projects, he enjoys fishing, rock collecting, and exploring the beautiful landscapes of Eastern Oregon. His enthusiasm for environmental stewardship aligns perfectly with the collaborative and solutions-driven approach of the DRC.

We look forward to the expertise and dedication Grant will bring to our team. Please join us in giving him a warm welcome as he embarks on this new chapter with the DRC!
