Welcoming Maggie Anderson to the DRC Team!
The Deschutes River Conservancy is excited to welcome Maggie as our new Project Manager. In her role, Maggie will oversee DRC-led field monitoring, support water quality initiatives, and serve as the liaison for the Crooked River Basin Water Quality Partnership.
Before joining the DRC, Maggie earned a bachelor’s degree in environmental biology from the University of Dayton in 2019 and a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder in 2021. Her graduate research focused on the impact of climate change on harmful algal blooms, a passion that fueled her career as a water resources engineer. In her previous role at an environmental consulting firm, Maggie worked on watershed management, stormwater infrastructure, and water quality improvement projects. She’s now eager to apply her technical expertise to the nonprofit sector, working with the community to advance conservation and enhance water quality in the Deschutes Basin.
Outside of work, Maggie loves exploring the great outdoors in Central Oregon. You can often find her hiking, camping, snowboarding, or paddle boarding—frequently with her dog as her adventure companion.
Please join us in welcoming Maggie to the DRC team! We’re excited to see the meaningful contributions she’ll make to our mission of restoring and protecting the Deschutes Basin.
